Anything for the regime to keep their tenuous grip on this nation...

You know what's interesting about this move, besides the implicated poll tax unless the federal gov't foots the bill? Historically, the first, reliable red flag for the development of a genuinely fascist (caste-based) gov't structure is: show me your papers. Put less humorously: When an individual citizen can no longer engage in their civil rights without their citizenship brought into contention by figures of authority.

Yeah, pretty much.

Course this hegemony will backfire, if a recent Indy Star poll is any indication, if Evan Bayh gets on one of the Dem presidential tickets. He, and the Bayh family, are still pretty beloved in Indiana. Almost Indiana's own Kennedys.

Still, considering the GOP just swept back into office on the city (Indianapolis) level, it's no sure thing.
